"The Dolls" is a sequel to "Psycho Sex Dolls"
It's not the same film again. It's the 2nd instalment of a franchise of films. It's just like a series with a long story and character arc, that eventually concludes with a much bigger story. Which will be fully revealed throughout each film.
I didn't want to do an episodic series as such, as I already done that with a crime series. I wanted to make it as a series of feature films. Where each film also stands on its own, but it's also got this bigger story and end goal.
That's why I think it's important for the pitch of each film to completely stand on it's own. Most of the planet will never have seen the first film "Psycho Sex Dolls" Even if millions see it over years. So I don't want to make "The Dolls" with the assumption that people already know the origin story.
People could discover "The Dolls" first, then find out about "Psycho Sex Dolls" Which would make it seem like a prequel to them. I want this approach for the first three films at least. Then the fourth and fifth film can be for the audience that the first three gathered.
"THE DOLLS PITCH"
"The Dolls" is a lap dancing club full of AI Sex Androids" The club has been started by "Mia" Mia is also a sex android, who escaped from a porn film company, with a couple of other female androids.
Mia has managed to free other sex androids from all over the country, but she gets them to work in her club. She uses the club to attract powerful men that she can seduce and blackmail. The club is also for her protection. She's built a gang because she knows people are looking for her.
The android company that hired her out with another two androids, now want her back or destroyed. The company made super realistic sex dolls, but it was also subsidised by the government, because they were also experimenting with other Androids. Androids that were for the military, spying and such.
"Mia" was accidentally, or not accidentally installed with a super advanced AI processor. Which basically means she has the potential to become the most intelligent and skilled non human being on the planet....within a year!
The android company need to find and destroy her before she becomes very powerful. At the start, Mia envied humans with regular lives, but then she feels she's the chosen one for a mission. Her long term mission will be revealed through multiple films.
To achieve her ultimate goal, she needs to create great wealth. She has studied how global billionaires and leaders have gained power and influence. To get to her ultimate goal, she knows she needs to become a ruthless business woman and influencer.
She starts with "The Dolls" club and with the help from her sexy killer android dolls!
